This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) forms part of the Eytak Consumer Terms of Service. It applies to your account, Service Data, servers, domains, APIs, webhooks and the actions of people you authorise to use them.
1. Purpose
1.1 This AUP protects users, players, Eytak, our suppliers and the wider internet from unlawful, abusive, insecure or disruptive use.
1.2 The examples below are not exhaustive. We will interpret and enforce this AUP reasonably, proportionately and consistently with applicable law and your consumer rights.
1.3 If you are unsure whether a proposed use is permitted, contact abuse@eytak.com before proceeding.
2. Your responsibilities
2.1 You are responsible for activity by workspace members, administrators and other people whom you authorise, to the extent it is within your reasonable control.
2.2 You must take reasonable steps to secure your account and server, keep authorised-user access current, and respond to a credible abuse or security notice.
2.3 If you allow players or other users to submit chat, builds, books, signs, files or other content, you must apply reasonable moderation appropriate to the size and nature of your server.
2.4 You must not encourage, assist or knowingly permit another person to use the Service in a prohibited way.
3. Illegal and harmful content
You must not use the Service to create, store, transmit, make available, promote or facilitate:
- child sexual abuse material or sexual exploitation of children;
- terrorist content or activity prohibited by law;
- credible threats, stalking, extortion or incitement to violence;
- fraud, phishing, identity theft or impersonation intended to deceive;
- unlawful hate, harassment or discriminatory abuse;
- unlawful intimate images or other serious privacy violations;
- material whose possession or distribution is unlawful;
- instructions or tools primarily intended to commit a serious offence; or
- any other activity that breaches applicable UK law or another law that validly applies to you or the Service.
You should immediately report suspected child sexual abuse or an imminent threat to the appropriate emergency or law-enforcement authority as well as to abuse@eytak.com.
4. Intellectual property and game licences
4.1 You must not infringe copyright, trademarks, database rights or other intellectual-property rights.
4.2 You must have the right to use and distribute every world, map, mod, plugin, modpack, image, name or other item you upload or select.
4.3 You and your players must hold the Minecraft licences required by Microsoft or Mojang. The presence of an online-mode setting does not permit pirated or unlicensed use.
4.4 You must comply with applicable Minecraft EULA and Usage Guidelines, and with Modrinth, CurseForge, author and software-licence terms.
4.5 We may restrict content after receiving a sufficiently substantiated infringement notice. We will normally give the affected user an opportunity to respond unless doing so would be unlawful or create material harm.
5. Security abuse and attacks
You must not:
- deploy malware, ransomware, credential stealers, botnets or harmful code;
- attack, flood, disrupt or degrade any system or network, including by denial of service;
- scan, probe, exploit or access an account, server, device or network without authorisation;
- use the Service to coordinate attacks or conceal their origin;
- intercept traffic or credentials without lawful authority;
- bypass authentication, isolation, rate limits, metering, spending controls or security restrictions;
- test a vulnerability against Eytak or another person without prior written authorisation and an agreed scope; or
- misuse credentials or personal data obtained during security research, or disclose vulnerability details for the purpose of enabling harm.
Good-faith security reports should be sent to abuse@eytak.com. We encourage coordinated disclosure and will propose a remediation timeline after triage. Nothing in this AUP prohibits lawful public-interest disclosure, a protected report to a regulator or law-enforcement body, or disclosure needed to address an imminent risk to users.
6. Network and messaging abuse
You must not use the Service for:
- unsolicited bulk email, spam or address harvesting;
- an open proxy, public VPN, Tor exit relay or traffic-relay service;
- torrent indexing, unlawful peer-to-peer distribution or a public file-distribution mirror unrelated to normal Minecraft operation;
- traffic laundering, artificial traffic generation or deceptive ad activity;
- hosting a public speed-test or bandwidth-exhaustion service; or
- network activity that persistently and materially interferes with another user's service.
Normal Minecraft player traffic, game updates and supported content downloads are permitted.
7. Resource misuse
7.1 You must not use the Service for cryptocurrency mining, blockchain validation, password cracking, unrelated high-performance computing, model training, mass scraping or another workload unrelated to operating the supported Minecraft server.
7.2 You must not deliberately evade resource measurement, create artificial load to harm shared infrastructure, or use automated processes that cause persistent material degradation.
7.3 High legitimate Minecraft usage is not abuse merely because it is high. We will address ordinary capacity through transparent metering, technical limits and plan features rather than an undisclosed fair-use charge.
7.4 If legitimate use materially affects shared infrastructure, we may temporarily limit the affected process and work with you on a reasonable configuration or capacity solution.
8. Domains, identities and representations
You must not use an Eytak address, custom domain, server name or MOTD to:
- impersonate Eytak or another person;
- falsely suggest endorsement or official status;
- infringe a trademark or pass off your server as another service;
- conduct phishing or fraud; or
- publish materially deceptive information likely to cause harm.
9. Commercial exploitation and resale
9.1 The Consumer Service must not be resold, sublicensed or used to provide paid hosting to third parties.
9.2 You may operate a Minecraft community and accept donations or monetise it only where that activity remains ancillary to personal use, complies with Minecraft Usage Guidelines and does not turn your acquisition of the Eytak Service into mainly business use.
9.3 Contact Eytak before using the Service mainly for commercial purposes. Separate business terms may be required.
10. Abuse of trials, credits and refunds
You must not create duplicate or misleading accounts, manipulate identities or payment methods, repeatedly claim introductory benefits, deliberately generate chargeable use without intending to pay, or otherwise exploit a trial, promotional credit, refund or hard-cap mechanism.
This clause does not prevent you from exercising a genuine statutory cancellation, refund, payment-dispute or consumer right.
11. Staff and support safety
11.1 You may criticise the Service, make a complaint or firmly assert your rights. Doing so is not abuse.
11.2 You must not make credible threats of violence, repeatedly target staff with discriminatory abuse, disclose private staff information, or use support channels to harass or materially obstruct assistance to others.
11.3 Where possible, we will warn you and offer an alternative written contact channel before restricting support access. Serious threats may be reported to law enforcement.
12. Monitoring and investigation
12.1 We do not undertake to monitor every Minecraft world, chat or file. We may use proportionate automated signals and targeted review to detect malware, attacks, resource abuse or reported unlawful content.
12.2 We may preserve and inspect relevant logs, metadata or content where reasonably necessary to investigate a specific security, abuse or legal issue, subject to our Privacy Notice and applicable law.
12.3 You must reasonably cooperate with an investigation, including by securing credentials, removing a harmful component or providing information about an authorised user.
13. Enforcement
13.1 Depending on seriousness, urgency, history and likely harm, we may:
- notify you or request information;
- issue a warning and reasonable remedy period;
- disable a feature, token, route, mod, plugin or file;
- rate-limit, isolate, stop or temporarily suspend a server;
- preserve evidence or report a matter where legally required;
- terminate the affected Service for a material or repeated breach; or
- close an account where continued access creates a serious ongoing risk.
13.2 We may act immediately without prior notice for an urgent security threat, active attack, child sexual abuse material, serious unlawful activity, credible threat to a person, binding legal requirement or other risk where delay would likely cause material harm.
13.3 For a remediable non-urgent breach, we will normally identify the issue and give a reasonable opportunity to remedy it before termination.
13.4 We will not permanently delete all Service Data merely because of a temporary investigation. Deletion follows the Consumer Terms and Backup and Data Lifecycle Schedule unless immediate deletion is legally required or strictly necessary to prevent serious continuing harm.
13.5 Suspension or termination does not automatically remove charges validly incurred before the action. Refunds are handled in accordance with mandatory law, the Consumer Terms and Polar's role as merchant of record.
14. Reporting abuse
14.1 Send reports to abuse@eytak.com and include, where available:
- the server address, domain, account or other identifier;
- a clear description of the issue;
- URLs, timestamps, screenshots or logs;
- the legal right or safety risk involved;
- your contact details; and
- a statement that the report is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
14.2 We may request further information. We will protect reporter and user information as required by law and will not promise a particular outcome before investigation.
14.3 Knowingly submitting a materially false report to harm another person is prohibited, but an honest mistaken report is not a breach.
15. Changes to this AUP
Material changes are handled under clause 19 of the Consumer Terms. We may make an urgent change sooner where required by law or necessary to address a serious new threat, with as much notice as reasonably possible.
